Then in the case of imported salt, Jampidsus searched 3 locations and confiscated important documents related to alleged corruption in the provision of industrial salt import facilities from 2016 to 2022.
Ketut said the locations that were searched were the Office and Factory/Gudang of PT Sumatraco Langgeng Abadi, on Jalan Raya Pelabuhan Ciwandan Cilegon, Banten.
The second location is located at the PT Sumatraco Langgeng Makmur Office, Perumhan Graha Famili Blok M-62 Surabaya, East Java. Furthermore, the third is located at the Factory/Gudang PT Sumatraco Langgeng Makmur, Jalan Kaliak Barat, Surabaya, East Java.
"The team has secured several important documents and a number of salt samples as well as sales documents belonging to the company," he explained.
This case occurred in 2018, where there were 21 salt importer companies that received a quota of approval for importing industrial salt of 3,770,346 tons or with a value of IDR 2 trillion without taking into account the local salt stock and industrial salt stocks available, resulting in abundant industrial salt.
The importers then diverted illegally the allocation of industrial salt to consumption salt in comparison with prices that were high enough to result in losses for local salt farmers and losses to the country's economy.
The Prosecutor's Office has not named a suspect in this case, nor is the state loss being calculated.
