Bahlil: President Jokowi Wants Investors To Implement Participation Again To Build IKN
JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) wanted to confirm to investors not to hesitate to participate in building the capital city of the archipelago (IKN)."The President gave a warning, gave a firmness, and I think that's just the beginning, his woro-woro in front of such a large number of people in the context of the business world, right," said Bahlil at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, quoted from Antara, Thursday, October 20.Bahlil's statement responded to a question regarding President Jokowi's presence at the IKN market poll event titled “ Nusantara Capital: New History of New Civilization ” in Jakarta, Tuesday (18/10) night.In the event, said Bahlil, the President also wanted to provide guarantees and certainty that IKN had a strong legal basis and political support. That way, investors need not hesitate and be hesitant to invest in IKN.Bahlil denied that the President's presence in the IKN market explore was because there were still many investors who doubted IKN.According to Bahlil, a lot of investment has entered IKN. However, he did not specify who and how many investments had entered."Some of them still want to enter or not, they still want clarity, and the President's firmness in providing this explanation as a form of the government's responsibility to guarantee investment from investors who enter IKN," said Bahlil.In the market poll event attended by domestic and foreign investors, President Jokowi emphasized that all parties should not hesitate and be hesitant about the prospects for IKN.The long-term project until 2045 has a strong legal basis and political support, namely Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning IKN which was approved by 93 percent of the factions in the DPR."What else can I say? There is no need to ask questions," said Jokowi, Tuesday (18/10).Jokowi even believes that the Indonesian nation will be able to celebrate the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) on August 17, 2024."With our efforts together, with the spirit of mutual cooperation, I am sure that on August 17, 2024, we can celebrate together in the archipelago," said President Jokowi.Construction of IKN requires an estimated cost of IDR 466 trillion. As much as 20 percent of the total cost requirement will come from the government budget, while 80 percent will come from cooperation with investors.
