Indonesian Medical Team Find 149 Cases Of Pakistan Flood Victims Exposed By ARI
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Medical Team found that many Pakistani flood victims suffered from acute respiratory infection (ARI) from the number of visits in the Tando Jan Mohammad area, Sub-district of Digri, Mirpur Khas District, Sindh Province.The Indonesian Humanitarian Assistance Team said the number of residents recorded to have received health services as of Tuesday amounted to 470 people, and the highest identified disease was the ARI with 149 cases or 31.7 percent.Chairman of the Indonesian Humanitarian Assistance Team Yusrizal said the condition of residents in the evacuation posts greatly affected the number of residents affected by ARI."The Indonesian Medical Team conducted surveillance on the number of cases of this disease at the evacuation post," he explained in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, October 19.Yusrizal said the data on patient visits from the first day, 11 to 17 October 2022, was the highest compared to other types of diseases. The total number of cases in the period 11 to 17 October was 670 or 23.38 percent. Of these, as many as 175 cases of ARI targeted the category of toddlers.Meanwhile, the Indonesian medical team only provided health services at the evacuation posts in the Sub-district of Digri. His team noted a number of other diseases suffered by these flood victims."Other cases encountered are Febris 105 cases, skin disease 45, myalgia 41, dyspepsia 31, osteo arthritis 15, conjunctive 15, hypertension 9, aotitis media 8, vertigo 8 and others 44,” said Yusrizal.In addition to the disease, the team also served 5 people who were pregnant from all the visits.A team of 29 personnel from the Ministry of Health, TNI, Polri, Univeristas Andalas and MDMC focused on health services at Tando Jan Mohammad. Services to residents affected by the floods were based on recommendations from the Pakistani security authorities.However, this recommendation is not directly related to security conditions but the number of flood victims who need to get health services. Previously, the Indonesian Medical Team provided services in the Taluk Jhuddo Sub-district, still one area in the Mirpur Khas District, Sindh Province.During his activities at that place, the Indonesian Medical Team received support from the staff of the Mirpur District Health Office, Khas and the military. The total number of visits from 11 to 18 October 2022 was recorded at 3,336 residents.
