PSSI Bahas Rencana U-20 Indonesia Lawan Belanda
JAKARTA The Indonesian U-20 national team may conduct a trial against the Dutch national team at the same age group in preparation for next year's World Cup.
The plan was discussed when the PSSI delegation visited the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) some time ago to collaborate. The cooperation was also carried out by PSSI two Dutch giants, Feyenoord and Ajax Amsterdam.
In addition to discussing the trial plan, PSSI also exchanged ideas related to best-practices in the fields of Scouting, Coach Education, Youth Development, Women's Football and National Team Management.
"Both parties are also exploring the potential for training camp in the Netherlands as well as a trial match between the Indonesian U-20 team against the Dutch U-20 team," PSSI wrote on their official website.
Currently, the U-20 Indonesian national team is undergoing a training camp in Turkey. A total of 34 players were called by Shin Tae Yong to follow the preparations.
After leaving Turkey, the Garuda Muda squad will continue their activities to Spain. A number of test matches will also be held during the time span of the training camp.
The Dutch national team U-20 will not actually participate in the U-20 World Cup next year. However, the test against the Young Orange squad will be a good asset for Indonesia at the biggest celebration of the age group.
The tournament, which was attended by 24 teams, was actually held last year in Indonesia. However, the coronavirus pandemic made FIFA shift the tournament to May 20 to June 11, 2023.
