Real Madrid Won El Clasico Volume I, Carlo Ancelotti: We Beat It
JAKARTA - Real Madrid won their first El Clasico volume in La Liga this season. Los Blancos won 3-1 over their Barcelona guests.
Karim Benzema opened Madrid's lead in the 12th minute. Federico Valverde added to the hosts' goal in the 35th minute.
Ferran Torres had time to reduce the gap between his team in the 83rd minute. However, Rodrygo's penalty made Los Blancos close the match with a 3-1 victory.
Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti welcomed this victory. According to him, the Madrid players performed so perfectly.
"We had to make the game perfect, and we did," Ancelotti said after the game to DAZN.
"It was true that at first it went well, we took the lead early and controlled it well in the second half. We have confidence, with and without the ball."
The Italian man then praised the roles of Eder Militao, Toni Kroos and Aurelien Tchouameni. Militao is considered successful in reducing Robert Lewandowski.
"We control the players well between the line with Kroos and Tchoumeni," he joked.
With this result, Real Madrid topped the La Liga standings with 25 points. They are three points ahead of Barcelona who are in second place.
