Wow! Troubled Engine, Hyundai Pull 122 Thousand Cars Out 2022
JAKARTA - The manufacturers from South Korea, Hyundai and KIA will soon make a recall of 122,000 vehicles caused by transmission problems and oil pumps.
Quoted from CarsCoops, as reported by Antara on Sunday, October 16, the company also instructed to temporarily stop sales for affected vehicles, at least until the matter was resolved according to federal regulations.
Overall, Hyundai had to pull 53,142 vehicles in the US and 8,719 in Canada. While KIA had to pull 69,038 vehicles. The affected models include Hyundai Santa Fe 2021-2022, Hyundai Sonata 2021-2022, Hyundai Veloster N 2021-2022, and Hyundai Santa Cruz 2022, Hyundai Elantra N 2022, and Hyundai Kona 2022.
The problem also affects KIA Sorento 2021-2022 and Kia K5 2021-2023.
The main problem comes from an electric oil pump embedded in an eight-speed double coupling transmission. The oil pump is thought to have experienced internal errors, namely a solder that is not strong and can be released.
Kia and Hyundai do not yet know whether the damage has resulted in an accident.
