Police Ask For The Implementation Of The Pilkades In Kupang To Run Safely, The Netral Review Committee

East Kupang Police Chief Polda East Nusa Tenggara AKBP FX Irwan Arianto reminded the village head election committee (pilkades) to be held simultaneously in 74 villages in the area to maintain neutrality so that the Pilkades are carried out safely.

"We must remind the organizing committee for the Pilkades starting from the district and village levels in Kupang Regency to be neutral in the implementation of the Pilkades so that the security situation remains conducive and the election is safe and democratic," said Kupang Police Chief AKBP FX Irwan Arianto, quoting Antara, Sunday, October 16.

Kupang Police Chief AKBP FX Irwan Arianto said this was related to the police's preparation in securing the simultaneous Pilkades carried out in 74 villages in Kupang Regency.

He said that the safe and smooth village head election is the dream of all parties, but of course it can be realized if all parties are committed to carrying out the Pilkades democratically.

He said the Police had some strategics in realizing the Pilkades which took place safely and democratically.

Some of these strategies, such as all candidates for village heads, must sign an integrity pact, including the organizers of the Pilkades.

"This integrity pact lists the committee's readiness and village head brokers to carry out a'ready panca' consisting of Ready to lose, Ready to Win, Ready to Keep Security, Ready to be prosecuted and Ready to Maintain Netrality and Integrity", he said.

He said the integrity pact was signed before the Pilkades event in 74 villages took place on November 7, 2022.

In the Pilkades simultaneously held in 74 villages spread across 21 sub-districts in Kupang Regency, which was attended by 240 village head candidates and five of them were female village head candidates.
