TGIPF To The National Police: Stop Using Water Gas And Forms Of Security Rules For Football Matches
JAKARTA - The Joint Independent Fact Finding Team (TGIPF) of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy concluded 11 points of recommendation to the Police. One of the points related to the use of tear gas.
The National Police were asked to stop the use of tear gas in every national football match. The recommendation was only for the match handled by PSSI.
"Stop using tear gas at every football match handled by PSSI," read point F in the TGIPF recommendation to the National Police seen by VOI, Friday, October 14.
This recommendation to the National Police is part of the TGIPF investigative report submitted to President Joko Widodo today, Friday, October 14.
In addition to asking for no more use of tear gas for handling potential masses in national football matches, TGIPF also asked the National Police to draw up regulations for securing matches and sporting events.
TGIPF emphasized that the improvement of regulations regarding security was specifically for national football matches.
"Preparing the National Police Chief's regulations to secure sports, especially football," wrote TGIPF in point E TGIPF recommendations to the Police.
Meanwhile, TGIPF was formed by President Jokowi to investigate the Kanguruh Tragedy that occurred after the Arema FC vs Persebaya match in Surabaya on Saturday, October 1 night.
The country's football-blooded tragedy killed 132 people. Meanwhile, the number of injured victims was 257 people, consisting of 532 minor injuries, 49 moderate injuries, and 26 seriously injured.
So far, the National Police have named six suspects in the investigation of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. They are three Polri personnel and three civilians.
Three Polri personnel, namely the Head of Malang Police Ops Kompol Wahyu Setyo Pranoto, Head of Samapta Malang Police AKP Bambang Sidik Achmadi, and the Company Commander (Danki) Brimob Polda East Java initials AKP Hasdarman.
They are suspected of violating the provisions of Article 359 or Article 360 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of five years in prison
Meanwhile, three suspects from the civilian element, namely LIB President Director Ahmad Hadian Lukita, Arema Malang Organizing Committee Chair Abdul Haris, and Security Officerward Suko Sutrisno.
The three were suspected of violating the provisions of Article 359 and/or Article 360 and/or Article 103 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 52 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2022 concerning Sports.
