Add More Regional Heads Affected By COVID-19, Now The Regent Of Bantaeng, South Sulawesi
MAKASSAR - The Regent of Bantaeng, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Ilham Azikin reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 after carrying out a swab test. Residents who had close contact with Ilham Azikin were asked to immediately carry out a swab test.
The news came after Ilham Azikin underwent an examination at RT-PCR Wednesday, December 2 at 8:00 p.m. WITA, and the results were positive.
Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force for Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi, Andi Ihsan through his official statement said that the Bantaeng Regent is currently undergoing independent isolation for the next 14 days.
"The Regent advised all those who had close contact with him within the past 14 days to immediately carry out testing," said spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force for Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi, Andi Ihsan, to reporters, Thursday, December 3.
As a patient without symptoms (OTG), the Regent of Bantaeng, Ilham Azikin, had to carry out independent isolation in an effort to break the chain of COVID-19 in Bantaeng Regency.
"Currently, the Regent of Bantaeng is carrying out Independent Isolation for the next 14 days and begs the prayers of the entire Bantaeng community so that he will be well and recover quickly," added Ihsan.
In addition, Andi Ihsan said, the Regent of Bantaeng left a message to the public to always comply with health protocols by heeding health protocols.
"You do this by doing 3M + 1 (wearing a mask, washing your hands with soap with running water regularly, and keeping your distance and avoiding and preventing crowds," said Andi.
The Regent of Bantaeng has made a working visit outside the city in the last 2 weeks.
"In the last 2 weeks, he has done assignments outside the region, namely Jakarta and Makassar," said Andi.
