Ganjar Pranowo Ziarah To The Tomb Of The Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari
JAKARTA - The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, took the time to visit the grave of a well-known South Kalimantan cleric, Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari. Here Ganjar came to attend the opening of the 29th National MTQ.
Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari is a great scholar. He is a figure who spreads Islam, writes the book fiqh Sabilal Muhtadin which is widely used as a reference for many Muslims in the world and becomes a scientific reference for the Egyptian University of Al-Azhar.
Ganjar made a pilgrimage to the cleric's grave, also known as Datuk Kelampayan, at 14.30 WITA.
After the pilgrimage, Ganjar visited the library. There, he saw the relics of Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari in the form of sticks, Korans written hand in hand to books.
"Please, sir, you can hold your knife. This was what was always brought by the grandfather, including to teach his students," said the library guard.
Ganjar also held the baton which was hundreds of years old. He kissed the stick and held it for quite a while. Ganjar also saw the Koran writing hands stored there.
"Wow, there are books and books too, huh, this was sold, huh? I bought it. Wow, this is also perfumed oil. So remember when I used to hajj, I was usually offered 'cheat, cheap'," he recalled, laughing.
Ganjar said that the figure of Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari was highly respected. During his life, he used it to spread Islam.
"From his history, he was the first spreader of Islam here and his name is Al-Banjari. So there must have been a connection with Banjarmasin. From this story, his age is more than a hundred years. He must be an extraordinary figure," explained Ganjar, Tuesday, October 11.
In addition to pilgrimages, it turns out that there are many relics that are still well maintained. There are also a number of books and books by Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad that were sold at that place. Ganjar bought to find out the history of life and the struggle of Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari.
"At least we can know how the history of the development of Islam here. And it turns out that it is true, South Kalimantan, the majority of which are Muslims, the spiritual values of Islam are also very strong. That's why tomorrow we will have MTQ here, as well as we will see the contingent of Central Java," he explained.
He hopes that many young people come to that place. They can learn and understand religion.
"Hopefully it becomes more understanding about religion and I can also know the history here. The more you can show that a peaceful, cool Islam and inspiring Islam", he concluded.
