AC Milan Vs Chelsea Preview: Retaliatory Rossoneri Opportunities
JAKARTA - AC Milan will be preparing to welcome bigmatch against England giant Chelsea. This is the Rossoneri's chance to take revenge on their guests.
Milan and Chelsea will meet on the fourth matchday of the 2022/2023 European Champions League Group E elimination at the San Siro Stadium on Wednesday, October 12 in the morning WIB.
In the previous three matches, Milan and Chelsea both collected one win, one loss, and one draw. The results make them both collect four points.
Three points were obtained by the Blues when they hosted Milan last week at Stamford Bridge Stadium. A three-goal victory without reply at that time made the London team move up to second in Group E.
Meanwhile, one Milan victory was obtained when they met Dinamo Zagreb in the group's second match. Stefano Pioli's squad previously opened the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Salzburg.
The defeat at Chelsea's headquarters made Milan have to go down to third. However, this group is a tight group because Dinamo Zagreb in the bottom position is only two points adrift with Salzburg in the top position.
Thus, the four teams still have almost the same chances of qualifying for the knockout. The situation is even more interesting if Dinamo Zagreb wins over Salzburg, while Chelsea and Milan play in the draw this fourth week.
Milan came to the match against Chelsea in the morning with good capital. They just won over Juventus in Serie A last weekend.
Chelsea are also getting better after recording two consecutive wins in the English Premier League. Most recently they took home three points at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Graham Potter's side are now in the top four of the standings. They collected 16 points from eight games or eight points adrift of Arsenal in top position.
The Blues won the Champions League in the 2020/2021 season, but were eliminated by Real Madrid in last season's quarter-finals. However, they could be favorites following Potter's arrival to replace Thomas Tuchel.
On the other hand, Milan has not qualified for the Champions League knockout system since 2013/2014, but they have won this competition on seven occasions. They are the second most successful team in Europe under Real Madrid.
