BELITUNG - The Belitung Regency Government, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, has confirmed that it will maintain as many as 1,300 honorary workers who work within the local government because they are still needed.The Regent of Belitung, Sahani Saleh, said that the reason for maintaining the honorary staff was because existence was still needed to support the implementation of regional government."We will still maintain the existence of honorary workers because we still need it," he said in Tanjung Pandan, Antara, Monday, October 10.According to him, the honorary staff in the area that is maintained mainly includes honorary staff in the health and education sector. The role of two workers in this field is very much needed by local governments in the midst of limited human resources (HR).In addition, honorary staff in the area are also spread as Satpol PP officers and cleanliness or yellow troops. "The Satpol PP personnel and the yellow troops or our cleaning staff still need their role," he said.Sahani added, in accordance with current regulations, the regional government will not abolish or reduce the number of honorary workers in the area.Meanwhile, regarding their appointment to become ASN, they must still pass the test in accordance with applicable regulations.The regional government will also temporarily not accept honorary workers for considering regional financial conditions."Nothing is a priority for their appointment, they must still follow the selection of admissions to become ASN or PPPK in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.
