JAKARTA - Anna Sorokin is a source of inspiration for the film Inveting Anna which airs on Netflix. In the real world, this fraud expert is imprisoned.
And now, the convict who disguised himself as the heir of Germany and deceived the rich New Yorker, has been released from prison. But he is required to stay away from social media, his lawyer has confirmed as quoted by The Guardian, Saturday, October 8.
This 31-year-old woman named Anna Delvey has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since March 2021.

His immigration lawyer, John Sandweg, confirmed that his release process had begun, and that he was transferred from the Orange County prison facility in northern New York to downtown Manhattan.
"He's on his way to be released... he's still in the final process," Sandweg said.

His stay with ICE came after spending more than three years behind bars for defrauding banks, hotels and friends to finance a luxurious lifestyle.
The immigration authorities said Sorokin had extended the validity period of his visa and should be returned to Germany.
