Interested In Playing Korean Dramas, Tony Leung Wants To Play Acting With Song Kang Ho

JAKARTA - Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai expressed his interest in playing in South Korean film or series projects. He wants to fight obstacles in speaking for acting.

"If there is a role that can get me through language problems, I want to play in a Korean drama," Tony Leung said, launching The Korea Herald today, Thursday, October 6.

I just watched a CODA movie. If there is a role that asks me not to talk like in that film I also want to, maybe I can also star in Korean dramas," he said.

Tony Leung also has two Korean actors who are his favorites. He even hopes to compete with these two names, namely Song Kang Ho and Jeon Do Yeon.

I'm happy to see Korean content going well. I have a long history with Korea, Tony Leung said.

I first came to Korea for about 20 years for the promotion of the film. I also participated in the second Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and this is the fourth time," he continued.

It is known that several films will be shown through BIFF this year. The list of films is Happy Together (1997), The Longest Nite (1998), In the Mood for Love (2000), and 2046 (2004).

My first 20 years of acting career was study time, I think I can show what I learned over 20 years. Now I can work without pressure and this means I'm ready to act with more diverse roles, Tony Leung explained.

As an actor, I want to show the audience well. Playing in a Hollywood film can also show my performance," said the Shang-Chi actor.

On the same occasion, Tony Leung received the Asian Filmmaker of the Year at BIFF. This award is given to filmmakers who make significant contributions in the Asian film industry.
