Due To Heavy Rain, Road And Cliff Agency In Makasar, East Jakarta Longsor

JAKARTA - The Makasar Sub-district SDA Task Force and PPSU Makasar Sub-district have handled landslides on roads and cliffs on Jalan Kerja Bakti VII, RT 09/04, Makasar Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta.

The landslide was caused by the pouring rain, so the cliff with a length of about 12 meters and a height of 11.5 meters collapsed.

Temporary handling was carried out by installing dolken wood on Wednesday, October 5. The location of the landslide is the only access for residents in RW 07 Makasar Village, even though the location of the incident is in the RT 09/04 area.

The management of RW 07 was forced to close the road so that it would not be crossed by car vehicles. Because many roads have cracked and some have fallen to the cliffs of the Cipinang River.

Makassar Sub-district Head, Kamal Alatas, said that his party immediately coordinated with the East Jakarta City Water Resources Sub-Department for quick handling.

"The first step to prevent further landslides has been carried out temporarily at the scene with dolken wood installed," he told reporters, Wednesday, October 5.

The sub-district head will also ask the local RT/RW management to prohibit car types from crossing the area.

"The location condition is because it is vulnerable," he said.

He hopes that repairs will not only be made at the location of the landslide, but those in the vicinity that are prone to landslides must also be repaired. So that aftershocks do not occur in the future.

Head of RW 07 Makasar Village, Nyoto Hedi Sumarsiono, said that the landslide occurred during heavy rains on Tuesday. At the time of the incident, the condition was empty so that no vehicles or residents were affected.

Currently, his party has closed the road so it doesn't cross vehicles. Meanwhile, the car belonging to the residents of RW 07 is directed to temporarily park at the Makassar Sports Center. His party has also coordinated with the GOR manager to temporarily accommodate the residents' cars.

"We are temporarily closing access to prevent unwanted things from happening. Then all cars have been directed to temporarily park at the Ciracas Sports Center. Because the location of the landslide will also be handled by the SDA Sub-Department," he said.
