Alasan KPK Tanggkal Ex Anggota DPR Di Kasus Garuda Indonesia: Khawatirkan Pergilan Ke Luar Negeri
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that it asked former members of the DPR who were involved in bribery in the procurement of aircraft at PT Garuda Indonesia, Tbk to be prevented from going abroad. This request was submitted to the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
"Regarding Garuda, we did come back when asked, we have done a check (to go abroad, ed)," said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Karyoto to reporters in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 5.
Karyoto said this request was to prevent the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from traveling abroad. Moreover, the KPK believes it will be difficult to call the person when he has left the country.
"Because there are concerns that this person, if he goes abroad, it will be difficult to present him," he said.
However, Karyoto did not want to explain about the status of the prevented party. The reason is that the KPK is still strengthening the evidence first.
As previously reported, the KPK has named a former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives and a company as a suspect in the bribery case of PT Garuda Indonesia, Tbk. This determination is the development of the 2010-2015 Airbus aircraft procurement case.
It was not specified who the former members of the DPR and the company were suspects. A new name will be conveyed by the anti-corruption commission in full along with efforts to force detention.
