Sukamiskin Prison Gives Ex-Menpora Imam Nahrawi A Sick Brother

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Imam Nahrawi went outside the Sukamiskin Correctional Institution (Lapas), Bandung. He was allowed to visit his sick brother."Yes, we will allow him (Imam, ed)," said Head of Sukamiskin Prison (Kalapas) when confirmed, Tuesday, October 4.Elly stated that Imam's exit from Sukamiskin Prison was in accordance with applicable regulations. The plan is that the inmate will return to his cell on Wednesday, October 5."It's been a few days (out of prison, ed), tomorrow he (Imam) has gone home," he said.While outside the Sukamiskin Prison, Imam was closely escorted by members of the police. He went to visit his brother by land.Imam Nahrawi was found guilty in a corruption case in granting the Ministry of Youth and Sports grants to KONI and gratuities amounting to Rp8.3 billion. He has served a sentence of 7 years since 2020.This sentence was imposed after the Supreme Court's (MA) Panel of Law reached out for the cassation submission submitted by Imam.This submission was made after the former National Justice Party (PKB) politician was found guilty in a bribery case related to the management of a proposal for a grant from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI).In addition to serving a corporal sentence, Imam was also required to pay a fine of Rp. 400 million and a replacement money of Rp. 19,154,203,882.
