JAKARTA - Arema FC President Gilang Widya Pramana will take full responsibility for the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, which made 125 lives serve.

"I am fully responsible for the incident. My deepest apologies to the victims, the Indonesian people for the incident that happened to Aremania's extended family on October 1, 2022," said Gilang at the Arema Management office in Malang, Monday, October 3, quoted from Antara.

Gilang explained, currently all management, coaches and players are shocked, sad and speechless about the incident. He deeply regrets the incident that led to the death of hundreds of people.

"I am ready to provide assistance, compensation, even though it will not be able to return the victim's life," said the man who is familiarly called Juragan 99.

Currently, continued Gilang, he and the players and coaches will do the sowing of flowers at the Kanjuruhan Stadium. After the flower sowing activity, his party will pay a funeral to the victim's house.

"We came to provide assistance, compensation and encouragement to them," Gilang added.

"This incident is beyond prediction, beyond reason. In that match all of our supporters, there is not a single supporter of the opponent. How can this happen to kill hundreds of people. Events that may not exist in the world," said Gilang while sobbing.

Gilang emphasized that Arema FC is ready to accept any sanctions from PSSI or the government.

"I am ready to accept anything. Any sanctions that will be obtained. I have no intention of making money. As long as I am president, no rupiah goes into the account. So no more lost lives. Hopefully it will be a lesson and lessons are taken," concluded the skincare boss.
