Jakarta Be Alert To Rain Moderate Until A Week In The Future

JAKARTA - The DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) predicts that Jakarta will have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain over the next week.

Based on the forecast of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the extreme weather status in Jakarta is at the wawspada level.

"The BMKG predicts the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds for the period from 2 to 8 October 2022 in the DKI Jakarta area," wrote the bpbddkikarta Instagram account, quoted on Monday, October 3.

BPBD DKI Jakarta explained that the extreme weather in Jakarta in the next week will be indicated by a sign of atmofer dynamics in the form of bends and slowdown in wind speed.

This can improve the pattern of convectiveness, plus the active phenomenon of Madden Jullian Oscillation (MJO) interacting with the Rossby Ekuator wave and Kelvin wave.

"So that it can maximize the potential for rain cloud growth in several parts of Indonesia in the next few days," he wrote.

Therefore, the DKI Jakarta BPBD appealed to the public to remain alert to the potential for extreme weather that could potentially cause hydrometeorological disasters in the form of floods, inundation, landslides, strong winds, fallen trees, and so on.

"If you experience or encounter an emergency, immediately contact Call Center Jakarta Siaga 112 or use the emergency button on the Jakarta Safe application," he said.
