2022 MotoGP Standings After The Race In Thailand: Bagnaia Is Increasingly Threatening Quartararo

JAKARTA - The competition for the 2022 MotoGP title is getting hotter. This is after the leader of the standings, Fabio Quartararo, failed to get points in the Thailand MotoGP race, Sunday, October 2.

Quartararo scored no points after only finishing in the 17th position. That means, he still collects 219 points.

The French rider is still at the top of the 2022 MotoGP standings. However, now Quartararo is only two points adrift of Francesco Bagnaia who occupies the second position.

Bagnaia added to his collection of points after finishing third in the race at the Buriram Circuit.

Meanwhile, the third position is still held by Aleix Espargaro. Now the Aprilia Racing rider is 20 points adrift of Quartararo.

The competition is getting hotter because Enea Bastianini (fourth position) and Jack Miller (fifth position) are no more than 40 points adrift. Both still have a chance to make a surprise.

The reason is, the 2022 MotoGP race still leaves three more races. Furthermore, the riders will compete at the Philipp Island Circuit, Australia.
