YOGYAKARTA - Jeka Saragih, a senior MMA athlete from Indonesia, will compete in the Road to UFC semifinal competition. After overthrowing Pawan Maan Singh, an MMA fighter from India, in June 2022, Jeka made maximum preparations to face world boxers.
Jeka Saragih is the only Indonesian representative to walk into the semifinals of Road to UFC on the UFC 280 which will take place on October 22, 2022 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In the semifinals, Jeka will fight South Korean representatives Ki Won Bin.
While in San Diego, United States, Jeka Saragih made intensive preparations and training to be able to go to the final round. Jeka was trained directly by a team of quality coaches, namely Marc Fiore from Team Wrestling USA and Jacob Burcker holding the jujitsu black belt.
Jeka Saragih's training program received facility support by Mola in collaboration with One Pride MMA. Jeka is expected to make history as the first Indonesian MMA fighter to appear on the UFC stage.
Jeka Saragih is an MMA athlete who comes from Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra. Jeka was born on July 3, 1995, and is currently 27 years old. The fighter nicknamed the deadly kick has a height of 181 cm. He appeared in the 70 kg lightweight fighting class.
Jeka Saragih has been interested in the world of self-defense since he was a teenager by practicing wushu. In 2013, Jeka had appeared in a martial arts match in the Philippines, although he had not won. Jeka's dream of becoming an outstanding martial arts athlete was proven when he managed to win the wushu national championship which was held in Yogyakarta.
After his victory, Jeka received a call to participate in the National Sports Week in North Sumatra. However, Jeka's desire to have a career in the martial arts world was rejected by his parents. Jeka also decided to move to Batam to become a laborer.
While living in Batam, Jeka's desire to defend himself continued to burn. He also joined the Batam Fighter Club (BFC) martial arts club. Kegita just practiced making him quite relied on as a BFC fighter.
Jeka Saragih then received an offer from Yakop Sutjipto, the owner of BFC, to participate in the One Pride TVone championship event. Jeka passed the selection and was included in the 70 Kg Grade A fighter and became the beginning of his career getting more successful.
In April 2017, Jeka Saragih successfully won the position of MMA One Pride champion in the 70 kg class. He managed to beat the incumbent from Semarang Ngapdi Mulidy with TKO in the first round. Since then his name has become increasingly known by the public as an MMA athlete. In July 2018, Jeka Saragih was asked to carry the Asian Games torch fire around North Sumatra.
