JAKARTA - Police have arrested the perpetrators of torture and imprisonment in East Kotawaringin (Kotim), Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan). Two of the victims were a woman with the initials EJ (37) and her child SL (11).
The suspect, from SD, a resident of Pasir Putih, Kotim, has held a woman who is also his girlfriend. This woman is known to be a widow with one child.
"The motive was that the suspect was annoyed with the victim because the previous day the victim came home from the suspect's house suddenly without saying goodbye to the suspect," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kotim Police, AKP Zaldy Kurniawan in a written statement from Central Sulawesi Police Public Relations, Monday, November 30.
The primary school perpetrator initially picked up the victim by car with the excuse of going to the aunt's house to discuss the victim's marriage plans with the perpetrator. The victim joined the perpetrator by taking his child.
"While on the way, the perpetrator hit the victim beside him using his bare hands to the mouth, left cheek, under the eye and right temple of the victim. The perpetrator also hit the victim's child with the elbow, "said AKP Zaldy.
After that the victim was taken to a rubber plantation at Km 33 Sampit-Pangkalanbun. The victim was handcuffed while the victim's child was dragged to the side of the car.
"Then his hands were tied using rubber tires and threatened with using knives," continued AKP Zaldy.
From the plantation, the victim and the victim's child were taken by the perpetrator to his house at Km 35 Sampit-Pangkalanbun. When the victim was asked to cook in the kitchen, the victim fled with her child.
"And called a friend of the victim to ask to be picked up," said Zaldy.
