World Tourism Day In Bali, Sandiaga Uno: World Tourism Awakening!
JAKARTA - Indonesia is again believed to be the host of an international grand event. In particular, the event is about global tourism, World Tourism Day 2022 in Bali.
This World Tourism Day is also an opportunity to show revival and recovery in the tourism and economic sectors in various countries after the COVID-19 pandemic for the past two years.
Various lifting of travel restrictions, increasing consumer confidence, is certainly the main driver of recovery and offers hope and opportunities for millions of people around the world affected.
"Hopefully in World Tourism Day we can rethink tourism like what we all need and how we can realize the world tourism recovery agenda," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Wednesday, September 28.
The World Tourism Day or World Tourism Day is held every September 27 every year in various countries. For World Tourism Day 2022, which is specifically held by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) or the World Tourism Organization, Bali Indonesia is the host.
The commemoration day has been held since 1980. The date was taken at the same time as the initial day of UNWTO formation.
At the 12th meeting, namely in 1997 in Istanbul, Turkey, the UNWTO General Assembly decided to choose one country every year as the host and become a partnering country to celebrate World Tourism Day.
According to UNWTO, World Tourism Day is held with the aim of promoting attractive tourism in various countries as well as opening up and studying different cultures.
The existence of the World Tourism Day also aims to increase awareness of the role of tourism in the international community as an impact on social, cultural and economic values around the world. In addition, this event is the center of discussion about where, how and also the purpose of tourism.
This year, World Tourism Day took the theme Rethinking Tourism which will highlight how the shift to tourism is recognized as the main pillar of development. The theme will rethink tourism for its development and impact on the planet and opportunities for more sustainable growth.
