KPK Please Lukas Enembe No Longer Postponed And Full Of Call Next Monday

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked Papua Governor Lukas Enembe to fulfill the KPK's summons next week. His summons relates to the status of Lukas, who is now a suspect.

Previously, Lukas Enembe was absent due to illness when the KPK picked up the ball in order to conduct an examination at the Mako Brimob Polda Papua on September 12.

The case that ensnared him has not been detailed, but he has been prevented from going abroad. The announcement of the construction of the case that ensnared Lukas will be conveyed to the public during an attempt to force detention.

"KPK certainly hopes that the party in question will fulfill the summons on September 26, 2022 at the KPK's Red and White Building as the KPK has properly conveyed it," said KPK Chief of Public Relations Ali Fikri in his statement, Saturday, September 24.

Ali emphasized that we will ensure that the investigation process carried out by the KPK according to the corridors and legal procedures, namely upholding the principle of presumption of innocence and human rights.

Regarding Lukas' plan to seek treatment in Singapore and unable to attend the summons next Monday, Ali said that his party also wanted to conduct a health check on Lukas.

"We consider the suspect's desire to seek treatment in Singapore, but of course we must also make sure by conducting a health check on the suspect first when he arrives in Jakarta," said Ali.

As previously reported, Lukas Enembe has been named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This determination is based on complaints from the public.

Lukas is now said to be sick and wants to seek treatment in Singapore, although the Directorate General of Immigration has taken precautions abroad against him.

The attorney for the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, Stefanus Roy Rening, also asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to allow his client to seek treatment abroad.

Stefanus said Lukas Enembe needed treatment for the safety of his soul. He is said to have to seek treatment in Singapore.

"Our legal team considers that if these steps are not taken by the state, the atmosphere in Papua will not be harmonious," he said.

Stefanus said Lukas would not attend the summons on Monday, September 26. The reason is that he is sick.

Stefanus has conveyed Lukas' condition to the Director of KPK Investigations. "You can't be able to attend on Monday. So we ask the Governor to cooperate, so we came early to convey that because the health development of the Governor, according to the doctor, has decreased somewhat," he said.
