Golkar Opportunities For The Coalition With Gerindra, PPP: No One Has Left KIB

JAKARTA - Gerindra stated that it was open to the possibility to form a coalition with Golkar after the two general chairmen, Prabowo Subianto and Airlangga Hartarto met earlier this week. In this regard, PPP emphasized that communication with Golkar and PAN has been going well so far without any obstacles. To this day, no political parties in KIB have left each other. "So far, no one has left each other," said PPP DPP chairman Achmad Baidowi, Friday, September 23. The man who is familiarly called Awiek considered it legal if Golkar made an understanding outside of KIB. Including establishing communication with Gerindra. "It's the same with PPP in communication with parties outside KIB in the context of building understanding. If then the end is a coalition, it's good," said the member of the DPR.

"Even if we don't form a coalition, it's part of political communication to lighten the atmosphere so that our politics doesn't freeze," he added.

Awiek said, if in the end Golkar agreed to cooperate with Gerindra, then the plan would strengthen KIB. After all, KIB cannot be separated from the three parties in it.

"Because KIB has also strengthened cooperation with the coalition. Until now the coalition, we take care of each other. As for the evaluation of communication, KIB can participate in it," said Awiek.

Previously, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto met Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto earlier this week. The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco, revealed the contents of the Prabowo and Airlangga meetings.

Daco explained that the two discussed the nation's latest issues. He also admitted that Prabowo and Airlangga also discussed the 2024 General Election. "Yesterday's meeting between the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, it also discussed the latest issues of our nation, not only discussing the 2024 General Election," Dasco said in his statement to reporters, Thursday, September 22. According to Dasco, even though Golkar is currently a member of KIB with PAN and PPP, while Gerindra has joined hands with PKB, political dynamics are still very fluid. Dasco also said that Gerindra opened up opportunities to form a coalition with Golkar. "Yes, it's wide open, coalition with Golkar, anywhere with one vision. That's right," said Dasco.
