LAMPUNG - The Lampung National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has expressed preparedness in anticipating natural disasters due to extreme weather in the area.

Head of the Lampung Provincial Basarnas Office, Deden Ridwansah, said that preparedness was carried out by preparing equipment as well as officers to carry out first aid when a disaster occurred.

"For the officers 150 people, of which 111 organic officers are officers, while the rest are officers at the Bakauheni SAR Post, Tulang Bawang, Tanggamus, and Lampung," he said in South Lampung, quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 22.

He added that coordination steps with local governments related to regional conditions have also been taken as a form of vigilance to detect early potential disasters in the region.

"When there is information about events, we can detect them as early as possible, because in Lampung the challenge is road access and regional affordability. So that coordination helps us to be more alert when there is a disaster," he said.

He explained that disaster management exercises were also continuously carried out to maintain the resilience of officers in dealing with natural conditions during disaster events.

"Today, exercises were also carried out for officers to carry out search and handling efforts if there was an unexpected disaster. It is hoped that with this, disaster management will be faster," he said.

Based on data from the Lampung Basarnas to support preparedness, a number of disaster evacuation equipment and facilities have been provided, including ATV carrier trucks, excavators, communication rescue, ATV beach patrols, excavators, ambulances, rescue trucks and personnel buses each. one unit.

In addition, 10 units of trail motorbikes, seven units of personnel trucks, three units of rescue d-cabb, two units of rescue equipment, two units of rescue carrier, two units of ATV.

For water facilities, three units of KN SAR Basudewa, Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB) have been available, 18 rubber boats, one amphibious vehicle, a double stabilizer boat, 12 patch motors, 10 units of diving equipment, Aqua Eye, Underwater Search Device, and net rescue.
