Speaking On The National Birth Day Of The Prophet Kong Zi, Vice President: All Commemorators Of Religion Contribute To Domestic Development
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin hopes that all religious adherents, including the Konghucu people, can participate in building Indonesia.
"I hope that all religious adherents will contribute and participate in the process of developing the country. Religious organizations can be the driving force of the community's economy, especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the commemoration of the 2573rd anniversary of the Prophet Zi National Birthday in Pontianak Convention Center, Thursday 22 September.
The commemoration was held by the Indonesian Konghucu High Council of Religion (Matkin). The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Governor of West Kalimantan Sutarmidji, General Chairperson of the Council of congregants/Central Manager of the Khonghucu High Council (MATAKIN) Xueshi Budi Santoso Tanuwibowo and other relevant officials were also present.
"Similarly, other sectors, such as socio-cultural, health, education, and the environment. All religious-based community organizations can support the government's work to encourage the progress and improvement of Indonesian human resources in all fields, so that Indonesia can recover faster and rise stronger," said the Vice President.
The vice president said the role of the ulama and religious leaders was very important.
"In addition to being able to build a noble human being according to the teachings of each holy book, religious leaders are expected to be able to generate optimism and motivate the nation's citizens to remain productive and fighting empowered," added the Vice President.
Vice President Ma'ruf appealed to religious leaders to take an inspiring and cool approach, which would certainly get the attention of the people.
"I hope that Matakin will be more advanced and strong in protecting the people of Konghucu, while continuing to build and foster solid brotherhood in the midst of Indonesia's pluralism," said the Vice President.
The vice president also said that the Indonesian nation had advanced to class so that currently the government has talked about how to make Indonesia progress temporarily faced with global challenges that are no less complicated.
"But whatever challenge we face, one thing that is certain is that all of our work to improve the progress and well-being of this country is based on peace and stability," added the Vice President.
The vice president did not get tired of reminding that the task of caring for harmony and brotherhood is a shared task.
"We must not be careless about the potential of the conflict, which will only bring losses and setbacks for us," said the Vice President.
