Good News From The Ministry Of PUPR! Jalan Layang Kopo Bandung Rampung 100 Percent, A Functional Feasibility Test Is Immediately Being Carried Out
BANDUNG - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) conducted a test-worthy function of the flyover or Jalan Layang Kopo, Bandung City, West Java, after the infrastructure has now been completed 100 percent. Expert Staff of the Minister of PUPR for Technology, Industry and Environment Endra S Atmawidjadja said this function-worthy test was carried out to ensure the feasibility and safety of flyover construction before it was opened to be crossed by the public.
"After being declared safe and all tidied up, just a traffic test will be carried out (open traffic)," said Endra in his statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 20. According to him, the 1.3 kilometer long flyover will be tested as a function starting Thursday, September 22 at 00.00 WIB. Later, the flow of vehicle traffic, either from the west or from the east, can use the flyover. Endra said that currently the process of socializing to the public regarding the function-worthy test is being carried out. The flyover is still not operating for a full 24 hours, and is only used during busy hours.
During the function-worthy test phase, according to him, the vehicles allowed to pass are two-wheeled vehicles and passenger cars, including heavy vehicles with restrictions. In addition, according to him, vehicles are not allowed to stop and park on the flyover. According to him, motorists are required to maintain cleanliness and order in the flyover area. The Kopo Flyover road has been built since November 2020. The flyover stretches over Jalan Soekarno Hatta, starting from the east side of Cibaduyut intersection to the west of Kopo intersection. The new infrastructure in Bandung City has a uniqueness because it does not use poles for street lighting. The street lighting on the flyover is installed on each side of the road divider.
