Suarez Will Leave National Before Joining The Uruguay National Team For The 2022 World Cup

JAKARTA - Luis Suarez will part with Nacional to join the Uruguay national team in the 2020 World Cup in Qatar. Suarez's departure will be an agreement between the two parties from the start to work together.

Quoted from Football Espana, Tuesday, this is Suarez's second time returning to Nacional because the club is a team he played for as a child. In the second period of appearing at the club based in Montevideo, this 35-year-old player still looked impressive by scoring four goals in eight league games.

At the beginning of his return to Nacional, Suarez and the club were said to have only established short-term cooperation. Regarding how long the agreement tied up Suarez, the club at that time refused to provide an explanation.

Now, however, club president Jose Fuentes has clarified the situation of Suarez who only intends to sign a short-term contract. The main reason is because the former Barcelona striker is determined to lead Uruguay's attack line in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

As La Celeste's all-time top goalscorer, the decision to join and play in Nacional is Suarez's best option for himself to stay fit for the World Cup.

"When the Uruguay Championship ends, Suarez will leave, that's how we arrange the deal," Fuentes said.

Regarding the short-term contract at Nacional, this did not offend Fuentes because he claimed to have made a deal from the start. According to Fuentes, Suarez insisted that his third Nacional uniform in Europe be completed.

Suarez has been listed as one of the world's sharp strikers in recent years. Nacional became the first club to be defended before Elsengero started his career in Europe with FC Groningen in July 2006.

One year later, Suarez was able to attract Ajax Amsterdam's interest in using his services. His career skyrocketed when he moved closer to Liverpool.

However, the player's bright light was at the highest level when he was in Barcelona. Together with the Blaugrana, Suarez won many titles, including the Champions League.

After reaping many achievements at Barcelona, Suarez chose to defend Atletico Madrid before finally returning to Nacional as it is now.
