JAKARTA - North Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKBP Febri Isman Jaya said four children in conflict with the law (ABH) suspected of being involved in cases of sexual harassment of a 13-year-old girl in the City Forest, North Jakarta will be placed in a safe house, Cipayung, East Jakarta.

They received assistance from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), the Correctional Center (Bapas) and the Integrated Service Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A).

"The law rule is 7 days, but it can be extended by 8 days, so it's 15 days," said Febri when confirmed, Monday, September 19.

Regarding the victim's condition, continued Febri, he was traumatized. However, the victim has received psychological assistance from P2TP2A, for mental recovery.

"If it's traumatized, it's definitely called a child. That's why assistance will still be carried out from psychology, P2TP2," he said again.

Previously, the North Jakarta Metro Police handled the alleged case of sexual violence in the North Jakarta City Forest in accordance with Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA). So based on the law, the perpetrators cannot be detained because they are not even 14 years old.

"So, I need to emphasize here that we are still processing this case. However, the detention of this child is regulated in Article 32 of Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System is a minimum of 14 years," said North Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Wibowo to reporters in North Jakarta, Saturday, September 17, last.

Wibowo explained that the legal process for cases of alleged sexual violence is still ongoing. Officers have detained the four children of alleged perpetrators of sexual violence against a 13-year-old girl, as soon as they received a report on this incident on September 6.

The police have also examined information from those who are aged 12 to 14 years and revealed the motive, namely the victim refuses love.

After being arrested, said Wibowo, they were not repatriated, but entrusted to the Legal-Faced Child shelter in Cipayung, East Jakarta because they could not be detained according to Article 32 of the SPPA Law.
