Referring To The Cause Of Accidents To The Pejagan Toll Road, The Central Java Police Involves A Puslabfor Police Headquarters
SEMARANG - Central Java Police are investigating a series of accidents that hit 13 vehicles at KM 253 Pejagan - Pemalang toll road which occurred Sunday afternoon, September 18. Central Java Police Chief, Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said that currently his party has deployed a team including from the forensic laboratory.
"We have dispatched a team to the TKP, a thorough investigation and deepening will be carried out," said Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi in a written statement, Monday, September 19.
It was also explained that a team from the Puslabfor Police Headquarters was also involved in the crime scene (TKP) of the accident.
Meanwhile, Brebes Police Chief AKBP Faisal Febrianto added that his party is currently conducting a number of investigations and examinations of a number of witnesses.
"Regarding the cause of the grass fire around the location which resulted in a series of accidents on the toll road, we are still waiting for expert information," he said
He admitted, currently the Brebes Police are also conducting inspections of toll road managers and land owners around the toll road.
"The results will be conveyed further later," he added.
He said that his party routinely patrols the toll road area. However, due to the wide reach of the toll road, his party could not monitor all events in the area.
Regarding the chronology of the incident, the Brebes Police Chief explained that the incident started when Fortuner's car was traveling at KM 253 and was blocked by a puff of smoke. The car then braked, causing a number of cars behind it to brake suddenly.
"The speed is estimated at 70 to 80 kilometers per hour. For certainty, the Regional Police team and the National Police Headquarters have gone down to conduct a speed crime scene investigation. The TAA (traffic accident analysis) team has also been deployed," he explained.
He also said that there was one death at the scene. Currently, the victim has been handed over to the family and brought back to Jakarta at 01.00 WIB.
"The results of the examination at the hospital, 18 people suffered minor injuries and one person died at the TKP," added the Police Chief
Dirlantas Polda Central Java, Kombes Pol Agus Suryono, detailed that the police had investigated 13 cars involved in the accident.
The police, he said, had also coordinated so that similar incidents would not be repeated.
"We have summoned the toll road manager. We are collaborating and educating safety-related on toll roads. This is very important to reduce fatality on toll roads. We must complete and optimize facilities on toll roads, both patrols and emergency vehicles," he concluded.
