Gold Mine In Palu Attacked By Hundreds Of People, Heads Of Employees Slashed, 3 Excavators Burned
CENTRAL SULAWESI - As many as 500 people are suspected of vandalizing a gold mine owned by PT. AKM in Poboya, Palu, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi), Sunday, September 18, at around 2:25 WITA.
According to information obtained, the mass using two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles) amounted to 200 units, after arriving at the company PT. Their AKM immediately carried out anarchic actions by throwing and destroying and burning.
As a result of the anarchy, one employee on behalf of Yakob suffered a stab wound to the head.
A number of damages at the location, namely, the Office of PT. The AKM, mess, and guard posts were damaged by the throwing, 1 unit of company car was damaged, 1 unit of excavator was broken by glass, 3 units of excavator were burned, 1 where the soaking pool was burnt.
Palu Police Chief Kombes Barliansyah said that his party had deployed 300 personnel to carry out security at the PT AKM Office, the location of the gold mine in Poboya Village, Palu.

The police chief revealed that the impact of the vandalism caused an employee of PT AKM to suffer serious injuries due to being hit by a sharp object on the head. The victim has been rushed to the hospital (RS) for treatment.
In addition to destroying the office, those who originally protested also set fire to three heavy equipment and an open pickup operating car.
He explained that PT AKM is a contractor from PT Citra Palu Mineral (CPM) as the holder of a contract of work for mining companies in Poboya Village, Palu City.
Therefore, the Palu Police Chief asked the public to understand that there is no room for illegal mining activities (PETI) in Poboya Village, Palu City.
