Impact Of The Increase In Fuel Prices, Speedboat Ticket Tariffs From Sanur To Nusa Penida Rising 30 Percent

BALI - Treasurer of the Sanur Fastboat Association in Bali, Nengah Kertawijaya, said all speedboat entrepreneurs in Sanur, Bali, increased crossing rates by up to 30 percent.

The increase in tariffs has been carried out since there was an increase in the price of fuel oil (BBM).

"For our prices, we are adjusting to the increase in fuel prices, because oil prices are up in the range of 30-31 percent, so automatically we will increase ticket prices with the same calculation," Kartawijaya said as quoted by Antara, Friday, September 9.

The increase in crossing rates from Sanur to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan or vice versa is Rp. 100,000 for domestic use, at the previous cost of Rp. 75,000.

Meanwhile, foreign tourists are IDR 200,000 from the previous IDR 150,000.

Karta said this figure adjusts to Pertalite's fuel costs that have been used by speedboat owners, where since Saturday, September 3 the price has increased from IDR 7,650 to IDR 10,000 per liter.

Although the increase in fuel prices has increased since Saturday, members of the Sanur Fastboat Association can only increase prices on Wednesday, September 7, as visitors complain of sudden rising rates.

For four days since the government officially increased the price of fuel, Karta said no losses had occurred, but speedboat entrepreneurs had to experience a decline in profits, considering that in one round trip, speedboats needed at least 300 liters of fuel.

"If there are two Wijayabuyuk boats with 100 and 150 passengers, it consumes 400 liters of return and exit, one of which is 500-600 liters. The speedboat with the most energy is 300 liters," said Treasurer of the Fastboat Association Sanur to the media.

The impact of the increase in Sanur crossing rates can be seen from the decline in the number of passengers, especially the domestic community. From the previous 200-500 passengers, it decreased to 150 people.

"Automatically, there is a decrease of about 10-20 percent, from previously leaving two to three boats, now there is only one boat. I have a boat that is usually two boats but only one boat for three days in a row," said Karta.

He said that if the price of fuel remains high, it is unlikely that the crossing rate will return to its former state, as well as information that vehicles above 1,500 CC are prohibited from using Pertalite will further increase rates.

"There is a government plan not to use Pertalite, automatically use Pertamax so the price changes. It will definitely harm the community, but we as an operator and the company will follow. For Bali it has not been implemented, hopefully not because it can increase by 50 percent," said Kartawijaya, who is also the owner of a speedboat named Wijayabuyuk.

Abdurrahim (39), a crossing user who deliberately came to Bali from Banjarmasin to travel to mainland Nusa Penida, admitted that he was surprised because the crossing rate did not match the price he knew.

"We also don't know the price goes up and we just know when we get here. From us we want normal prices, we also want to know what the price increase is for. But if the increase in fuel prices affects and makes sense too," he told the media.

However, the tourist who works as a photographer admits that he still wants to visit Bali and Nusa Penida, because tourist attractions are the most favorite locations.
