Unlike The PDIP Which Was Appointed By Jokowi To Choose The Acting Governor Of DKI In Lieu Of Anies, PSI Asks For A Fit And Proper Test
JAKARTA - The chairman of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD proposed that the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) hold a fit and proper test for candidates for the Acting Governor (Pj) of DKI Jakarta to replace Anies Baswedan who will serve from 2022 to 2024.
PSI's attitude is different from that of the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, who handed over the decision to appoint the Acting Governor of DKI to President Joko Widodo through the Ministry of Home Affairs.
"First we have to realize that the Acting Governor will have a fairly long term of office, not just a matter of months, so determining who will take office must be selective. I think there needs to be a selection committee that runs a fit and proper test from the Ministry of Home Affairs," Ara told reporters, Friday, September 2.
Anggara assessed that the special fit and proper test for the Acting Governor of DKI needed to be made because he would lead Jakarta for 2 years. Thus, the election must be carried out in a transparent and careful manner.
Thus, he said there needs to be openness to the public about who is nominated and what is the consideration of his election as Acting Governor of DKI.
"We want people who are competent, who can run the government well. In addition, we must also be clean, of course, we don't want corruption cases in this term of office. These criteria are only obtained from the transparent and accountable election process," he said.
"I understand that the designation rules are the prerogative of the central government, but we hope that there will be progressive steps to maintain the value of democracy and the quality of government," Anggara continued.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, admitted that he did not want to suggest the name of the candidate for acting (Pj) for the governor of DKI Jakarta to replace Anies Baswedan who would end his term of office on October 16.
According to Prasetyo, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will definitely be able to determine who will occupy the position of Acting Governor who will be sworn in through the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) later.
"I don't comment on the Acting President. I think the President knows better than I do. Moreover, the President is the former Governor of DKI Jakarta. The people (who are suitable as Acting Governor of DKI), he must know," Prasetyo told reporters, Tuesday, August 30.
When asked for a response regarding three names that were widely reported to be included in the DKI Governor's Pj exchange, Prasetyo was reluctant to comment.
What is clear, continued Prasetyo, is that people who will later serve as Acting Governor of DKI during 2022 to 2024 will have to understand and be able to solve a number of problems in Jakarta.
"Regarding the Acting Officer, I don't want to mention names, but those who have to understand Jakarta. Because it's nothing, Jakarta still has a lot of homework. There are many problems with traffic jams, flood problems," said Prasetyo.
