Head Of Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Called The Cause Of Fire At Senen Market An Electric Short Circuit, Capai Losses Of Rp600 Million

JAKARTA - Head of Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. Asril Rizal, said that the cause of the fire was three kiosks at Senen Market Block 6, 3rd Floor on Thursday night, September 1, Central Jakarta night due to an electrical short circuit.

"Yes, it is suspected that we had an electrical short in one of the Senen Market kiosks," said Head of the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Asril Rizal when contacted by VOI, Friday, September 2.

Asril further said that his party had experienced problems in extinguishing the fire. The reason is, the kiosk door is locked so it must be opened forcibly and the smoke is quite thick.

"It is estimated that the loss reached Rp600 million with an area burned at 36 meters. Three stalls were burned," he said.

Asril said that previously the security forces had tried to extinguish the fire with fire. However, the fire that burned the kiosk containing the bag continued to grow.

"Efforts from security officers have been carried out, but the fire continued to grow until they immediately contacted us by the firefighters," he said.
