BBPOM Padang Giring 4 Cases Of Drug Circulation And Illegal Cosmetics To Court
PADANG - The Padang Food and Drug Supervisory Center (BBPOM) continues the process of disclosing four cases of illegal drug trafficking and cosmetics to the court.
"Throughout this year, we have taken action against four violations that were processed by law by Civil Servant investigators, all of whom were sent to court," said Head of BBPOM Padang, Abdul Rahim, in Padang, West Sumatra, quoted from Antara, Monday, August 29.
He detailed that the four cases, two of which were related to drugs, while the other two were related to cosmetics.
The form of violation committed is the sale of drugs without authority and cosmetics that do not have a distribution permit from the POM Agency.
"The perpetrator does not have a business license, a large pharmaceutical license, but continues to circulate or sell medicinal products. Then it is not a pharmacist but selling hard drugs listing G," he said.
He emphasized that the Padang BBPOM will continue to carry out regular supervision of production facilities and distribution in the local province.
"We go down every week by visiting production and distribution facilities to supervise medicines, food, and cosmetics," he said.
Regarding products that have a distribution permit, he said, a sample was taken to be examined by the Padang BBPOM officer.
Business actors are reminded not to do fraudulent practices in business activities such as using hazardous and prohibited materials for profit.
He said violators would be subject to sanctions ranging from administration, revocation of permits, to criminal penalties.
