Starting Today, Airplane Passengers Are No Need To Show COVID-19 Test Results

JAKARTA - Domestic travelers (PPDN) who have undergone booster doses of vaccination are no longer required to show negative RT-PCR and antigen test results. The regulation takes effect from today, Monday, August 29.

This provision is contained in Circular (SE) Number 82 of 2022 issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The SE was issued to make it easier for PPDN to use aircraft.

"PPDN is not required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR or antigen test and can travel domestically with strict health protocols," said Acting Director General of Civil Aviation Nur Isnin Isstiartono in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, August 28.

He said that PPDN is still required to use the PeduliLindung application and meet several requirements, namely:

- Age 18 years and over, must have received the third dose of vaccine (booster);- PPDN is a foreign citizen (WNA), who comes from overseas travel aged 18 years and over, must have received the second dose of vaccine; - Age 6-17 years old must have received the second dose of vaccine; - Age 6-17 years old from overseas travel excluded from mandatory vaccination; and -age under 6 is excluded from vaccination requirements, but must travel with companions, who have met the provisions of the COVID-19 vaccination.

For PPDN with special health conditions or comorbidities, except from vaccination requirements and not required to show a negative RT-PCR or antigen test result, but must show a doctor's certificate from a government hospital.

Nur Isnin said the circular provisions were also excluded for PPDN users of pioneering air transportation, including flights in border areas, 3T (lagging, leading, outermost) areas and limited services.

During the implementation of this circular, the transport capacity of aircraft (load factor), airport terminals, and airport operations can be carried out 100 percent.
