Anies Will Trust U20 Agenda Major Summit, Discuss City Challenges Due To A Pandemic
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Province will host Urban 20 (U20) Mayor Summit 2022 on August 30 and 31, 2022. In this case, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will lead a number of city representatives in other countries.
U20 Mayors Summit is the culmination of the Jakarta leadership forum at U20 this year. This Summit will provide opportunities for U20 city leaders to gather, strengthen collaboration and submit recommendations to the Indonesian government at the G20 Leaders Summit which will take place in Bali on November 15-16, 2022.
In a written statement, Anies said that this year's U20 will focus on the issues and challenges faced by cities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So the theme raised is 'Pascapandemic City'.
The U20 city delegation representing members of the G20 will be committed to working with the national government to address the most pressing challenges facing the world, including crisis recovery due to the COVID-19 pandemic, climate emergency, and increased structural inequality.
"With the increasingly urban city of this world, cities have an important role as the frontline to overcome the various challenges faced by the citizens of the city," Anies said, quoted on Sunday, August 28.
At this conference, Anies also invited the Regional Head and Governor of the G20 members to work together in three main fields, namely health investors and public housing as the basis for social economic recovery for all.
Second, encourage the transition of sustainable energy and fair access to sustainable mobility. Third, provide education and training on the future of workers for equal access to the labor market for all.
"It is important for events like this to exchange ideas, ideas, and ideas to face global challenges that are getting better complex," he said.

U20 Mayors Summit will be attended by 12 city delegates namely Los Angeles (Mayor), Rotterdam (Mayor), Tokyo (Governor), Tshwane (Mayor), Mumbai (Commissioner and City Administration, BMC), Sydney (Deputy Mayor), Berlin (Secretary of Permanent Citizenship, Democracy Support and International Relations), São Paulo (Deputy Secretary of International Relations), Madrid (Vice Director of International Relations), Moscow (Deputy Head of Department of External Economy and International Relations), Buenos Aires (International Relations Manager), Istanbul (Head of Foreign Relations of the Department of IMM).
Also 10 city delegates who attended virtually namely Amsterdam (Sherpa), Istanbul (Mayor), Izmir (Sherpa), Johannesburg (Sherpa), Lisboa (Mayor), Milan (Mayor), Moscow (Sherpa), New York City (Commissioner for Strategic Policy & Initiative), Osaka (Sherpa) Rome (Mayor).
Meanwhile, the observer cities (observer) will be attended by 15 delegates who are physically present, namely Lima (Vice Mayor), Quito (City Council), West Java (Mayor Mayor), Banjarmasin (Mayor), Balikpapan (Mayor Mayor), Makassar (Mayor), Medan (City Mayor), Padang (Mayoral Mayor), Palembang (Mayor Mayor), Palu (Mayor Mayor), Surakarta (Mayor Mayor), Ambon (Pj Mayor), Yogyakarta (Pj Mayor), Surabaya (Vice Mayor), Jambi (Head of Tourism and Creative Affairs Office).
