With about four months remaining in 2022, Danang is optimistic that the motor vehicle tax revenue target will be realized.
He explained that various efforts had been made to encourage people to be obedient in paying taxes.
One of the first efforts made is controlling vehicle taxes that are in arrears within the local government at the provincial and district/city levels.
"The state-owned vehicle tax collection. We have written to the regent/mayor about this," he said.
He explained the important role of taxes for development in Central Java.
According to him, the motor vehicle tax contributes about 60 percent to local revenue.
He said that the economic condition of Central Java, which continued to improve after the pandemic, was expected to encourage compliance in paying taxes and ownership of new motor vehicles.
