The Sepaku Ring Road Becomes The National Main Access Road To The National Capital

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is building the Sepaku Ring Road, the national road for the main access to the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the construction of the Nusantara Capital City had entered the land development phase or land mapping.

"After land mapping, the government will start the construction of basic infrastructure such as toll roads and national roads which are the main access to IKN Nusantara," Basuki said in his statement Wednesday, August 24.

The construction of the Sepaku ring road segment 1 to segment 3 is almost complete with an average physical progress of 77 percent.

This development uses APBN funding which is divided into three packages.

Head of the East Kalimantan National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) Junaidi said the total length of the roads financed through the APBN was around 2.91 kilometers.

"The construction of the Sepaku ring road segment 1 with a length of 0.75 kilometers, the construction of the Sepaku ring road segment 2 with a length of 1.04 kilometers, and the construction of the Sepaku ring road segment 3, with a length of 1.12 kilometers," explained Minister Basuki as quoted by Antara.

For the construction of the Sepaku ring road segments 1 to 3, it is carried out through a multi-year scheme or an advanced Multi Year Contract (MYC).

For the implementation of the Segment I Sepaku Ring Road, PT Prampus Inti Puspita will carry out its activities with a contract value of Rp46,693 billion.

Then, the construction of the Sepaku ring road segment 2, was carried out by PT Duta Mega Perkasa worth IDR 48.021 billion. Furthermore, the construction of the Sepaku ring road segment 3 was carried out by PT Cipta Artha Borneo with a budget of Rp44.8 billion.

Junaidi also said that currently, the construction of the Segment 4 Sepaku Ring Road has been completed and the auction can be carried out immediately.

"The tender (auction) for the project for the construction of the Segment 4 Sepaku Ring Road has been opened with a package ceiling value of IDR 193.47 billion, and contract preparation," said Junaidi.

The development of IKN Nusantara will be carried out in stages until 2045 by carrying out the concept of "Future Smart Forest City of Indonesia" so that it still pays attention to environmental aspects.

In the early stages in 2022-2024, the development that will be the priority of the Ministry of PUPR includes the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) covering an area of 6,671 hectares.

The priority infrastructure to be built by the PUPR Ministry includes the Presidential Palace, the State Mosque, ministry/institutional offices, the arrangement of the National Axis and Tripraja Areas, housing for State Civil Apparatus (ASN), access roads and early-stage environmental roads, and basic residential infrastructure such as supply of raw water through the Sepaku Semoi Dam and several other dams.
