The Village Head's Office Is Sealed By Residents, The Mayor Of Palu Immediately Removes The Lurah Due To Complaints About Extortion
PALU - Palu Mayor Hadianto Rasyid moved quickly to respond to residents' complaints about illegal levies (extortion) carried out by the Donggala Kodi Village Head, Palu, Central Sulawesi. Residents who were angry with the behavior of the lurah, sealed the kelurahan office.
Responding to the complaint, the Mayor of Palu City immediately removed the head of the village concerned. All complaints that were not accommodated by the lurah were taken into consideration by Mayor Hadianto Rasyid's decision.
"I confirm that the village head in question will be removed. The Secretary of the Lurah will replace the position of the Lurah until the definitive Lurah is determined later," Hadianto said as quoted on Tuesday, August 23.
"I emphasize that all village heads in Palu City must listen to the aspirations of the residents and there should be no extortion that harms residents," he continued.
Hadiyanto in his leadership period did open a citizen complaint service, one of which was related to extortion in public services.
“Report via the website, Report Mayor, if residents still find extortion at public service places. I will not hesitate to take firm action against these extortionists," said Hadianto Rasyid.
The decision of the Mayor of Palu was immediately welcomed by the residents. "Long live the mayor," shouted a resident who was met by Hadianto Rasyid.
