Appreciating The Steps Of BNI And Lion Air, Owned By The Conglomerate Rusdi Kirana, To Provide Cheap Flight Ticket Prices, Minister Of Transportation Budi: A Balance Point Can Be Created

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi supports the innovations carried out by airlines in order to stabilize airline ticket prices. One of the innovations carried out by Lion Air Group and BNI is to provide cheap airline tickets on weekdays or weekdays.

"We support the innovation that will be carried out by the Lion Group with BNI to provide affordable fares, especially on weekdays during the day," he said while attending the Super Air Jet First Anniversary and SAJ Fashion Show at Terminal 1B Soekarno Hatta Airport, Monday, August 22.

Budi hopes that this innovation can create a new equilibrium or balance point for the aviation industry, namely on the one hand the fares can be more affordable and on the other hand the aviation industry can also rise stronger.

Furthermore, according to Budi, this innovation will also change the habits of people who usually use planes in the morning or evening and on holidays or weekends.

"So if you want an inexpensive ticket, you can increase it on weekdays and during the day," he said.

On the occasion, Budi also expressed his appreciation to the Lion Group for innovating and implementing flight services well, in an effort to accelerate the recovery of the national aviation industry.

Furthermore, the Minister of Transportation invited all stakeholders in the aviation sector, especially airlines, to jointly recover and rise faster, in accordance with the moment of the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 activities. Although currently faced with a difficult situation due to limited aircraft and crew/crew due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The transportation sector contributes 21.27 percent to Indonesia's economic growth, which in the second quarter of 2022 grew above 5 percent. This growth momentum must be carried out consistently so that it does not decline," said the Minister of Transportation.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Super Air Jet, Ari Azhari expressed optimism that the aviation industry would recover and rise stronger. Ari said the number of Super Air Jet airlines is increasing and the area served is also increasing.

"Initially we had three units of the Airbus 320 type aircraft fleet and first flew on August 6, 2021. Currently we have 31 aircraft fleets and serve 19 cities in Indonesia with a frequency of 114 flights every day. By the end of 2022, it is projected to increase to 61 aircraft fleet units," said Ari.
