2022 MotoGP Standings After The Race At The Red Bull Ring: Francesco Bagnaia Increasingly Threatens Fabio Quartararo
JAKARTA - Ducati rider, Francesco Bagnaia, is increasingly heating up the competition for the 2022 MotoGP title. The victory at the Austrian MotoGP, Sunday, August 21, makes him now closer to the two riders above him.
The Italian rider has now collected 156 points thanks to his victory at the Red Bull Ring. He is 44 points adrift of Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo, who leads the standings.
As is known, Quartararo finished the Austrian MotoGP race in second place. That means he gets an additional 20 points from there.
While the second position is still occupied by Aprilia Racing's Aleix Espargaro. He currently has 168 points.
The fourth and fifth positions were filled by two Ducati riders, namely Johann Zarco and Jack Miller. Zarco, who finished fifth in Austria, now has 125 points.
Meanwhile, Miller, who was on the third podium at the Red Bull Ring, is only two points adrift of the French rider.
Enea Bastianini, who failed to finish the race due to motorcycle problems, dropped to sixth place. The original Italian rider was stuck with 118 points.
