Austrian MotoGP: Two Asian Riders, Ogura And Chantra, Dominate The Moto2 Class
JAKARTA – Two racers from Asia who defended the Idemitsu Honda Asia team, Ai Ogura (Japan) and Somkiat Chantra (Thailand) controlled the Moto2 class, in the Austrian MotoGP 2022 series which was held at the Red Bull Circuit, Spielberg.
Ogura became the champion, while his teammate Chantra was in the runner-up position with a time of only 0.1 seconds slower.
The third position was occupied by a British motorcycle racer who defended the Gasgas Aspar Racing team, Joe Dixon. Dixon finished almost eight seconds behind Chantra.
Throughout the race, Ogura who started from pole position competed with Chantra. However, the Japanese rider proved to be more tenacious, so he was able to maintain his lead from the beginning to the end of the race.
Thanks to his victory, Ogura won 25 points. Chantra got 20 points as a reward for the runner-up position, while Dixon got 18 points.
