COVID-19 Update As Of August 19: 5,163 New Cases, Most DKI Jakarta With 2,217
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 100,413 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,163 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,306,686 people and active cases have increased by 109 to 52,009 cases," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Friday, August 19.
Today's recovered cases increased by 5,028 people, bringing the total to 6,097,334 recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 26 cases and totaled 157,343 people.
The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,217 cases and a total of 1,373,754 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1,036 new cases with a total of 1,155,228 cases. Banten has 563 new cases and a total of 323,846 cases. East Java has 476 new cases and a total of 593,258 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,288 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 916 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 732 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 356 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 105,681,997.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 11.02 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 5,867 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
Furthermore, currently there are 203,082,619 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,589,897 vaccinations for the second dose. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 59,046,702 and the fourth dose was 272,716. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
