LPSK Wants A Special Prison For Justice Collaborator, Has Asked Minister Yasonna
JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) hopes that there will be a special detention house for justice collaborators to ensure protection.
"Ideally, in the future there will be a special detention house for JC and that will certainly facilitate the security and protection carried out by LPSK," said LPSK spokesman Rully Novian in Jakarta, Thursday, August 18, quoted from Antara.
Until now LPSK does not have a special detention center. The reason is that administratively it is under the authority of the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
Actually, the discourse on the existence of a special detention center for justice collaborators has also been conveyed to the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna Laoly.
"We have conveyed the discourse about the possibility of a detention center under the LPSK. But it is still the branch, which branch of the detention center is administratively still under the authority of the Directorate General of Past," he said.
Regarding the protection given to Bharada Richard Eliezer (Bharada E) as a justice collaborator in the case of the shooting of Brigadier J, Rully said that his party had placed special guards from LPSK in Bharada E's detention room at the Criminal Investigation Department.
"Since Friday the emergency protection has been running, the LPSK has put in place a security guard which we are currently coordinating with the Criminal Investigation Unit, but the LPSK people, the officers are from the LPSK," he said.
Earlier on Monday (15/8), LPSK granted the application for protection submitted by Bharada E justice collaborator in the shooting case of Brigadier J.
"It was decided to be protected by LPSK as a justice collaborator," said LSPK Chairman Hasto Atmojo Suroyo at a press conference at the LPSK office.
