Not Only Gerindra, PKB Will Also Meet With PDIP To Discuss The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) plans to hold a meeting with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). The two of them will certainly discuss the 2024 election.

PKB Chairman Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) said that until now his party is still communicating with other political parties after officially declaring a coalition with the Gerindra Party last weekend. Including PDIP, said Imin, PKB will discuss political contestation in 2024.

"Yes, we are still communicating with all parties, including PDIP," said Cak Imin to reporters at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, August 18.

The deputy chairman of the DPR revealed that so far PKB has often discussed with PDIP about the 2024 election. Therefore, a meeting is needed to follow up on discussions related to this matter.

"Yes (there will be a meeting, ed). We meet often, but yes, there will definitely be a meeting. We meet often. Discussions," said Cak Imin.

However, Cak Imin admitted that the communication had not yet reached a conclusion to explore political cooperation in 2024. This would depend on further discussions.

"Not yet. There has been no conclusion whatsoever (about the possibility of PDIP cooperating politically with the Gerindra and PKB coalition, ed)," he said.

Previously, the Gerindra Party planned to hold a meeting with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) to discuss the 2024 general election (Pemilu). This meeting was planned after Gerindra announced a coalition with the National Awakening Party (PKB).

Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, admitted that until now Gerindra's relationship with the PDIP was very good. Therefore, his party has scheduled a meeting to discuss the issue of maintaining unity and ensuring that democracy proceeds well ahead of the 2024 political year.

"Our communication with PDIP after the cooperation between Gerindra and PKB is also very good," said Muzani to the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, August 18.

"We will also meet with the PDIP to discuss how to maintain the unity and democracy that has become our choice in 2024, can take place well," he continued.

Muzani said all actions and political cooperation carried out by Gerindra, including meetings with PDIP, would also be discussed with PKB.

"We will discuss all of our actions and political cooperation with PKB," he said.
