The two people were named Gunawan Saifullah (forest police) and Sudirman (member of the Sumatran Tiger Patrol). Both died after their camp was crushed by a log.

Head of the Mukomuko Regency Forest Management Unit (KPH) Aprin Sihaloho in his statement in Mukomuko, Wednesday, confirmed the incident and currently a joint team from Polhut, Basarnas, Polsek, and the community is evacuating two forest police officers from TNKS.

"Currently the weather is rainy so it becomes an obstacle for the joint team to evacuate these two people from TNKS," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 17.

Based on the report he received, the chronology of the incident was stated on Monday (15/8).

The Sumatran Tiger Patrol Team (PHS) consisting of a forest police officer and three PHS members departed from the TNKS Mess of North Bengkulu and Mukomuko Resorts to the TNKS area in Pondok Suguh District, Mukomuko Regency to carry out jungle patrols for 7 days.
