Head Of BP3MI Bali Ensures Gusti Ayu Vira Of PMI Abandoned In Turkey In Safe Condition

DENPASAR - Head of the Bali Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Service (BP3MI) Anak Agung Gde Indra ensured that Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) from Bangli, Bali who were seriously ill and neglected in Turkey are currently safe.

BP3MI Bali has also coordinated with the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Bali Province Manpower Service (Disnaker) to process the return of PMI on behalf of I Gusti Ayu Vira Wijayantari.

“An open letter (Gusti Ayu Vira) is the basis for our coordination. As a result of our communication on August 15, Gusti Ayu Vira is in good condition and safe," said Gde Indra as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 16.

The head of BP3MI Bali said the company that currently oversees PMI also gave Gusti Ayu Vira an opportunity to rest.

“Gusti Ayu Vira was temporarily given facilities by the company where (she) works to rest. All needs are facilitated by the company," said Gde Indra.

Gusti Ayu Vira on August 14, 2022 wrote an open letter requesting that she be sent back to Indonesia because she was seriously ill after working outside of her normal hours.

In an open letter addressed to President Joko Widodo and a copy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Vira recounted when she worked in the first place as a spa therapist at the Lonicera Hotel, working hours were more than 8 hours a day, rest time was only 15 minutes, holidays were difficult. earned, and salaries are often not paid on time.

However, when he tried to discuss with his distribution agent from Bali, Vira did not find a solution. The channeling agent named Anak Agung Raka Murtini, who in the letter was called Bu Gung, actually asked Vira to continue working despite her deteriorating health condition and not fulfilling her rights as a worker.

Because of that, Vira ran away from her first job hoping to get a better job. At least, he changed jobs up to four times.

However, at the third place of work, Vira admitted that she had received harassment from her client. However, when reporting to superiors, the company did not follow up on the complaint.

At her last workplace, Vira admitted that she received better treatment from her superiors and the company. However, his health at that time had deteriorated for at least the past month.

“On July 18, 2022, I vomited blood, for about 2 weeks I was vomiting, and I couldn't walk because of problems in my stomach and lungs. Until August 13, I haven't been able to work properly," Vira wrote in her letter.

He pleaded with President Jokowi to send himself back to his home in Bangli, Bali.
