Police Find Gas Stations Indicated Of Misappropriating Solar Distribution In Pekanbaru

PEKANBARU - Riau Police found a public gas station (SPBU) indicated to have violated the distribution of subsidized diesel.

The mode facilitates the public to buy fuel in jerry cans and modified cars so that they can accommodate large amounts of oil.

"Many people who buy with jerry cans, even use modified cars. In Pekanbaru, they were found at several points," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Riau Police, Kombes Ferry Irawan, as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 15.

Regarding the alleged existence of subsidized diesel fuel (BBM) being distributed to companies, Ferry admitted that he had heard the information but had not found any evidence.

"Indeed we heard that. However, until today we have only found data or perpetrators who used jerry cans or modified cars. Where did he sell it? We are still investigating this," he said.

Kombes Ferry said his party could take firm action against companies that collect subsidized diesel. Therefore, companies must follow the rules.

"Anyone who buys diesel other than industrial diesel, we will take action. We will raise the case, we will provide the data on the number of cases later," he said.

As instructed by the Riau Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal, his party will continue to monitor the situation and conditions on the ground.

"We continue to monitor the implementation of activities. Pertamina continues to coordinate and monitor with us regarding the distribution of subsidized fuel at gas stations," he said.

Currently in almost all gas stations in Pekanbaru City and its surroundings, there are many queues of vehicles buying subsidized diesel, causing traffic jams.

Law enforcement officials also ask that people who find indications of fraud in the misuse of subsidized fuel can report to the authorities along with evidence.

Previously, Riau Governor Syamsuar reminded owners of diesel-fueled luxury cars not to buy subsidized fuel because it helps reduce stock.

Owners of luxury vehicles, he said, must fill in dexlite as a substitute for subsidized diesel.
